Day 258
Interior
We’ve been working hard to finish the interior work. We have one of the side panels installed. Those take a bit of work. You have to match drill along all the holes, then pull a bunch of rivet nuts. There’s also a map pocket that has to align as well. A little tricky, but we got it to go. Another aspect to get to align and fit are the rear vents. The hole on this side was not cut, so we had to determine where it went, and then cut and trim it out without destroying the upholstery already done. We were also able to rivet in the top vinyl pice that joins the center and rear fuselages.
We also spent some time finishing the pilot side. Our solder butt connectors arrived so we got the pilot control stick wired. Then we finished installing, riveting and upholstering the control box. We then got the floor piece installed. Lastly we finished the center console parts and got them installed on the pilots side.
Tomorrow we will finish up the copilot side parts, and hopefully get to installing the last side upholstery part. With that, all the inside upholstery will be completed, other than the seats!
