Day 260

The seats are all done! We placed the rear seat in and found there was an alignment issue with the backrests. They were too far to the outside. Come to find out, the hinges have offset holes. Go figure. So we quickly drilled both hinges off, switched sides and riveted the seats back together again. Now they fit.

We also got around to upholstering the front seats. They turned out very well. We acquired some cool looking vinyl that we used to cover the backs of the seats where it has bare aluminum showing. We didn’t realize the upholstery would not be covering the whole backs of the seats. Otherwise we may have tried to paint them earlier. But the vinyl worked perfectly and looks good too.

Now we can work on getting some platforms made for transporting the wings, and early next week should be able to transport the plane to the hangar and start final assembly!
