Putting the plane on wheels

We decided it was time to put the plane on it's wheels.

This was a bit more challenging then was initially thought and the extra hands this day were definitely helpful.

When the plane was lifted of the ground with the crane we started with the main landing gear, this was attached to the plane with 4 bolts, the upper bolts above the landing gear and the lower bolts below the landing gear.

The way we installed the landing gear was as follows: first we installed 1 bolt in one side of the plane. Then we put the landing gear in place making sure that it was al the way against the already installed bolt, by hitting it with your hands. Next the second upper bolt is installed and only once those two bolts are in, the weight of the plane is put on the landing gear and therewith the bolts automatically slide in the right position. (Now the real trouble starts) to fit the lower two bolts we did 2 things: first we pulled the wheels approx 6cm towards eachother with a ratchet band second we gave 1 bolt a bit of a chamfer on the tip to get it through all the holes more easily. Big thanks to Jetshine's build log for these tips and tricks!
