Engine Air Filter - Pt 4

After a lot of thought I decided not to use the fiberglass filter housing and instead, use the aluminum housing supplied with the kit.

I used the fiberglass section as a template and marked the the contour of the engine cowling onto the aluminum housing. I then added a 0.75" flange and trimmed it out.

After making some tabs to facilitate the curvature of the cowling, I bent the tabs 90 degrees so the aluminum filter housing tabs will nest inside the engine cowl while the housing itself protrudes out of the cowling. To facilitate the bends, I made some backing plates from MDF and clamped them to the aluminum housing while bending the tabs.
