09 Jan 21 - 07-08 Back Riveting
First major mistake....
Back riveting was quite straight forward on the LAA metalwork course, so was quite looking forward to this. So 40 psi, ear defenders on, check back plate is underneath, two quick pulls of the rigger, check with the gauge, move on. Quickly did the left side with no hiccups, however as i reached to get one i didnt realise i moved the skin, and disaster. Quickly reviewing the VAF forums, and asking on the RV slack group, the general advice was to redimple the skin & stiffener, and try again. Seemed to work, but will see.

Left Skin sucessfully done....but on the right side...

The skin slipped off the edge of the metal plate as a leant forward....Cue some a few expletives..

And looks worse on the skin .... :(

Repaired...the rivet is flush, but there is a small dent. Am hoping this can be rectified when painting....fingers crossed
