Left wingtip
With a bit of help, fitted left wing tip, countersunk and prepared for riveting. Washers still need to be epoxied in place behind the countersunk holes prior to final riveting.
To start, I measured the distance from the end of the top and bottom wing skins to the outer edge of rib 14's flanges and then drew a corresponding line on the top and bottom of the wingtip moulding, thus ensuring that the alignment was correct that the the moulding butted up against rib 14 as per the KAI. The wingtip was about 15mm below the aerofoil camber on the top surface, so I cut two pieces of foam (old pool noodle) about 10mm oversized versus the aerofoil depth and inserted them inside the wingtip prior to positioning the tip on the wing. This made the tip expand vertically internally and snug up nicely between the top and bottom wing skins; consequently fitment was made substantially easier. Match drilled the skin holes into the wingtip. For the trailing edge of rib 14, strap duplicators would not fit so I drew lines through the centre of the rivet holes on rib 14 along the wingtip to the trailing edge top and bottom. Then I used rib 14 from the right wing to align the hole placement from the outside.
Also deburred various fuselage components and the remaining longerons which took a long time because of the awful plastic "protective" (useless) covering. I hate this stuff!!
