Measuring brake hoses and riveting front seat backrests
Measured (5 times!) the brake hose lengths. I had to cut some of the Sling-supplied hose to approximately 2m and then heat it in hot water to straighten it out. Then I held it in position with cable ties where appropriate and used a marker to note the position for measurement. I'm planning to order teflon lines, so will need custom made units imported from the USA. I've been dealing with the supplier there to debate the correct lengths, it's a bit tricky because I don't have any AN fittings to install so I can properly measure flange to flange, however the measurements are not critical since the hose is flexible and the lengths really depend on the chosen routing. Some extra length is needed for the bend radius and to accommodate pedal movement and so on too.
With some family members assisting, the front seat backrests were assembled and riveted together. Then the backrest attachment brackets on top of the sat bases were riveted in position. The adjusting mechanism was test assembled and cleco'd in place.
