Assembled seat bases
Discovered that I had incorrectly routed the cables for the seat adjusting mechanism, so those were corrected and tested again. The stainless steel nuts were tightened and torque seal applied. Then the mechanism was assembled and everything riveted together. They work well, although the one seat unfortunately developed a squeak post riveting when the mechanism is operated, which is very irritating but there is not much I can do about it now. Maybe a little bit of silicone lube or similar on the one locking pin will do the trick, but for now I'll leave it as-is.
This assembly proved tricker than I had anticipated. Part of it was due to me painting the seats black to match other internal components, but wanting the adjustment lever silver. The lever cannot be fitted later, so the painting had to be done first and assembled carefully to avoid scratching. Some paint touch ups will be required, but on the whole they came out okay.
Painted front of firewall with heat resistant (up to 650 degrees Celcius) silver paint, and did the same on the firewall reinforcement channels. I've decided not to apply intumescent paint here since it's latex and I expect it to be quite thick, which may interfere with the components I need to attach to the firewall. Instead, I'll find some other fire-resistant insulating material (looking at a possible stainless steel option) and perhaps apply the intumescent paint to the inside of the fiberglass cowling instead.
