Bootcowl Nutplates / Landing gear
Boot-cowl Nut-plates
Today I spent installing nutplates on the boot cowls and dashboard. All the nutplates are in place now, and some of the rivets holes are dimpled. In hindsight I drilled too many rivet holes on the top on the firewall, although there shouldn’t be any implications. I’ll use some of them to secures nutplates for the engine cowling when the time comes.
Undercarriage
Now that the aircraft is supported on a wood frame, I was able to lift the tail and support it, removing weight from the undercarriage. I then removed the wheel and gear struts.
With the gear struts off, I sealed the threads on the shocks which I had forgotten to do when I assembled them.
