Cargo door, Skylight frame

Skylight

Painted the skylight frame again, then trimmed it to fit and Clecoed into place.

Cargo Door

Cut out the window from the door skin. I decided to bond the door onto the frame, and today I ordered some Scotch Weld DP190 Adhesive. However I will rivet the window frame into place after final painting is completed. Using rivets will enable me to remove it if I ever need to replace the Lexan.

Door Latch

I ground off the spring retaining washer, and slid a strong spring into place, held it in the vice and welded it back on again. This was after trying many springs and finding that most of them were deforming by winding them on.

I also fashioned as small aero foil to mount in front of the door latch, largely to draw the eye to it, and also to make it more aerodynamic. I will also make a slot in some .025 and cut it in a small rectangle to cover the existing slot which is larger than it needs to be.
