Doors

I worked on the left side door latch mechanism today and got it finished. My welding is still very agricultural, but seems to be strong. Once I had the mechanism in place the latch itself was binding inside, so I partly disassembled it and sprayed with lithium grease. It’s now silky smooth with very little friction. Tomorrow I will weld a small steel plate onto tabs inside the door-frame to add strength for the retaining bolts. The next step is to skin the lower part of the doors and add a .025 frame that the acrylic will be bonded to inside.
