Finished covering!
Finished the covering today after adding a few miscellaneous tapes that I think were needed, and completing the large rear inspection ports.
I also riveted the boot cowl door frames into place. I deliberated over whether to corrosion proof them. I had already run the fuel lines through before I realized. I will brush the corrosion proofing on during the painting process. The aluclad aluminum does contain a corrosion proof surface anyway so it should be very durable and a lot of aircraft are being built without further corrosion proofing so it should be fine anyway but I wouldn’t mind being sure.
I’m now changing the mindset towards painting the fuselage, empennage, gear legs, and boot cowl. This will be the next major step after covering. It looks like the Dynon avionics are being shipped shortly, so if I begin painting now it should be finished around the time the avionics arrive. I’ll then install the avionics, followed by the firewall forward.
