Top coat paint

After a long day sanding back and cleaning yesterday, I got out early this morning while the air temperature was still around 18c, mixed a much smaller quantity of paint, laid down a tack coat or two, took a break to let it tack up and then applied a wet coat. Much better results this time. I’ve painted the top and bottom and right-side vertical stabilizer. Tomorrow I’ll do the left and right sides. No runs, no orange peel, no solvent pops. The end result isn’t perfect, because where it ran I was only able to sand back so much. But it’s a huge improvement.

Both sides didn’t have runs so with sanding I’ve been able to get what seems to be a reasonable finish. I’ll know more tomorrow.
