Instrument Panel, Baffles
Added nutplates to the instrument panel to attach both Dynon HDX screens too. I didn’t have the correct nutplates for the radio so I’ve ordered them. I’ll give the panel another coat of paint as it was pretty average, having painted it outside. Next time I’ll clean and dampen the area first.
I began work on the engine baffles and right away discovered that my idea of having the oil cooler mounted on the starboard side wasn’t going to work because the Vans baffle kit is specifically designed for the cooler on the Portside, and I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel with this. So I have to do another firewall mock-up, but it fits one way or another. The only real issue is that the engine driven fuel pump is also on the Portside, so clearance is minimal.
Anyway, I then proceeded and made up the first baffle with duct flange. Using the dome head rivets is new for me. I think I need to start using the rivet gun and get used to it.
