Exhaust, Park Brake, Front Door

Exhaust

The left exhaust was a tight fit but I eventually got it installed in a position that should provide cowling clearance from the heat muff, and clearance from the oil cooler. Finding room for the support struts was challenging. I hang one vertically and the other one is horizontal providing a brace from the other exhaust. It ended up being very robust. The next challenge will be connecting the scat tubing to the heat muffs in a way that leaves plenty of space for the cooling airflow.

Right front door

I cut the angle aluminium and drilled the rivnut holes to retain the acrylic. Also managed to get 4 rivnuts installed before breaking the mandrel. I’ll buy another one tomorrow. In the meantime I cut and heat molded the Kydex interior door panel. Overall I’m much happier with these interior door panels than my first attempt. The doors have taken a lot of time though - the cost of modifications is the additional time taken.

Park Brake

This morning I changed the routing of the park brake cable. The original routing meant it didn’t fit under one of the fuselage tubes. It’s now working well and routed behind the right outside rudder pedal.
