Neville's Bearhawk

Boot cowl, Empennage, Wing struts, Nutplates

Boot cowl

I’ve been getting the upper boot cowl ready for permanent fitting. I made some last mixture trimming around the door post, and dimpled some remaining firewall rivet holes.

On my Bearhawk the top 3 pieces of cowling will be riveted in place, although they can be removed easily if required to remove the windshield.

Nutplates

I finished doing the nutplates on the bootcowl that will attach the windshield fairing to.

Empennage

I removed the empennage today and placed it back in storage. It’s all ready for transport to the hangar now.

I also checked all the bolt sizes and bagged them along with the flying wire attachments.

Wing struts

I removed both struts from the wing crates and unwrapped them. I did a trial fitting of the bolts. I would have preferred a slightly shorter AN bolt, but I’ve already got 16 of them so I’ll use washers. I just need to check that the fibreglass strut fairings will clear the bolts.
