Fuel tank, Inspection covers, Pulley guards
Fuel tank
Most of today was spent installing the right fuel tank. This included installing the AN4 & AN6 fittings with Loctite 569, installing the finger strainers, cutting a hole for the fuel drain in the tank cover, and cutting the holes in the two end ribs to run the fuel lines through.
Tomorrow I will disassemble and remove the tank again to install the nutplates.
Inspection covers
This evening I dimpled the screw holes on the inspection covers. Some of them needed to be filed with a small round file to center the hole. Using the nut-plate tool reduces the workload a lot and results in a much better alignment.
Pulley guards
Two of the aileron pulley guards had been welded at the incorrect angle at the factory, meaning that the guard would bind on the cable. I discussed this with another builder who had the same issue. So I’ve removed the welds, and tomorrow will weld them together at the correct angle.
