Fuel bay padding, Aileron Bellcrank and Pulleys, Pitot mount
Fuel bay padding
I cut some strips of outdoor carpet that I had left over from doing the floors in the Bearhawk, and used carpet tape to adhere it to the fuel tank straps and skin stiffeners.
Aileron Bellcrank and Pulleys
This evening I installed the aileron bellcrank and both pulleys. I need to check the orientation of the cable guard on the pulley at the top of the wing strut - it looks like it’ll rub the cable. In the photo below it’s upside down because I haven’t attached the hoseclip to hold it in place yet.
I used hose clamps to hold some baffle material in place where the flap mechanism hits the mounting bar.
Boom Pitot Tube Mount
When I ordered the Dynon pitot tube, I made a mistake and got the boom type. However it does the same job, but they don’t make a mount for it. So I bought some aluminium tube that the Pitot slides inside, and cut a slot that a hose clamp compresses against the pitot to hold it in place. I’ll make an attachment for the aft end and get it welded into place. This will then attach to the front spar. At this stage it’s just a proof of concept, and once I know that it fits, I’ll make a final one.
