Magnetometer, OAT probe

Magnetometer

I fabricated a small mount for the magnometer that fits just inside the outer rib of the left wing. I'll rivet it to the outer rib, and the lower wing skin. Getting the correct positioning took a while because it has to be the same as the ADAHRS. Because of this I used the opportunity to set the ADAHRS up too. I needed to raise the front of the unit to get it closer to the aircraft centreline. I used a string along the side to estimate the centreline and worked out that it is parallel to the top of the door frame. Once close I can then fine tune it in the software.

Ill rivet it into place after the wing is finally closed.

OAT Probe

I mounted the OAT probe in the outer wing bay behind the magnetometer, through the aileron cove cover side panel. This gives it full access to the outside air whilst being shielded from direct sunlight. It also means it can be accessed by removing the wingtip, same as the magnetometer and the landing light.
