Fuselage Parts/Electrical Tools
Spent a few hours today working on various aft fuselage parts. Most of them required some degree of trimming and extensive deburring. A couple thick pieces of aluminum had a bend along their length as a result of the stamping process. Per plans I placed these parts in a vice, put tension on them against the bend and give the piece a good whack with a rubber mallet. Then move the part in the vice, and repeat as needed along the length. This technique worked surprisingly well at straightening them out. The length of the fuselage longerons is indicative of the overall size of the aft fuselage when its complete. It will be a good size structure. I also received a shipment of electrical tools from Steinair. These included a crimper for the mini-Molex connectors, wire strippers that'll handle thin 24 AWG wire, flush cutters, a 3/32 hex end screwdriver for removing avionics from their trays, and special tool for removing Molex pins from connecters. None of it cheap but all needed.
