Section 32, Baggage Area Complete

Finished up Section 32 in the plans by countersinking and riveting two AN426 rivets on the flap motor brackets and riveting in the 6 seat hinges. My pneumatic puller made quick work of those 42 LP4-3 rivets. The I got out the elbow grease and started the process of scuffing and cleaning all the unprimed Alclad skins that will be painted. I like to use 92% isopropyl alcohol to clean the skins after scuffing. It's been unavailable in stores but I got two 32 ounce bottles recently from Amazon. I haven't yet settled on a paint system for the cockpit area. Stewart System paints are attractive from a toxicity standpoint but are complicated to apply needing a spray gun. Some guys just use rattle can paint and a nice finish can be had if properly prepped and applied. Plus touching up scratches in the future is easier. My buddy Dan gave me the PVC framework he used as a paint booth to enclose his fuselage when he painted his cockpit. Before I do anything I need to buy samples of various paints and make some test pieces to check color and finish. In the meantime I've got plenty to keep my busy.
