Rudder Pedal, Brake Stuff, New QB Wings

This morning was dedicated to a thorough inspection of my QB wings. I needed to make a remediation choice with Vans on the faulty primer/QB corrosion issue that affected a certain number of QB kits of which mine was one. I'd made the decision earlier to keep my fuselage and fixed the small number of light surface corrosion spots I'd found IAW Van's guidance. For that I received a $2000 stipend from Vans that I applied to my Finishing Kit. I'd inspected my wings months ago and also found a few spots of light surface corrosion. But unlike the fuselage there are multiple enclosed bays within the wings that aren't easily inspected. For that I bought a pretty neat but inexpensive borescope off Amazon that streams video to your cell phone or iPad. The borescope revealed corrosion in the wing bay areas that I didn't want to deal with. For peace of mind I elected to exchange my QB wings with a new untainted set per Vans offer to affected kit builders. It was an easy choice. The good news is we get priority on new wings and it sounds like I'll have a replacement set in the next month or so. Vans has done a good job with information, transparency and remediation on this issue. I'll feel much better having new, corrosion free, properly primed wings. Been working on rudder pedal/brake assemblies over the past couple of days too. Finished up mounting the brake cylinders yesterday. Today was aligning and match drilling the center bearing block and cutting two 13/16" holes in my stainless steel firewall for two flanged couplings that'll need to be riveted in.
