Scott's RV-14 Build

Tip Fairings Finished!

Finished up the vertical stab fairing today. Over the past couple build sessions, I got it final sanded, dimpled, countersunk, riveted on and the joint filled with Superfil. I got the Superfil applied early enough today that it was cured by evening, and I was able to sand it. I've just had a few pinholes to fill with finishing putty. Then I tapped the rudder strobe light mounting holes for the 4-40 screws. I'll wait till the rudder is mounted on the fuse to complete the wiring. My next task will be removing the elevators and replacing the hinge bearings with the longer ones like I did on the rudder. Then I can get the tail surfaces mounted permanently.
