Scott's RV-14 Build

Starting Canopy Frame

I've moved on to building the canopy frame. It's a pretty involved piece with a lot of parts. There's a big warning in the plans about following the instructions exactly to avoid canopy misalignment when completed which would cause much heartbreak. I'm going to hold off installing any glass or the actual canopy itself until I get the autopilot pitch servo installed and wiring completed in the aft fuselage. Then the rollbar needs to be painted and permanently installed. For the past couple days I've been prepping parts and dimpling skins. A surprise came yesterday when a big box showed up from Van's containing most of my Firewall Forward Kit. I wasn't expecting it so soon. There's multiple back ordered parts including the exhaust system. I spent last night inventorying it all.
