Forward Canopy Frame Assemblies
Yesterday was spent fitting the canopy frame assembly parts to the skin that will cover them. Today was spent riveting the assemblies together. I was forced to buck all the rivets. I used the squeezer on the hinges. But the squeezer just wouldn't fit in where I needed it to go on the assemblies. The hair always goes up on the back of my neck when riveting 1/8" rivets on relatively flimsy structures. The key I've found is to secure the workpiece firmly. Which isn't always easy but it's worth the effort when the rivets set nicely and the drama is low.

Canopy hinge assemblies

Things are starting to take shape.

For the pulled rivets a small piece of angle is used when the puller can't be square on the rivet. It allows the puller to be at an angle but the rivet head to set flush.

Needed to do some machine countersinking. The material is pretty thin for -4 rivets so care was needed not to overdo it.
