Back at it...
Back in the shop (finally!) after a month out of the country. Had fun on vacation but at the same time felt a little guilty that nothing was getting done. The plane sure won't build itself. The summer AZ heat is gone, and it was a good time to finish painting. I knocked out the big aft fuselage access panel which was my last item. The primer went on well needed just minor sanding with 400 grit paper. The topcoat again had very minor orange peel. I've kept detailed notes during all my paint sessions on temperature, humidity, air pressure at the gun and gun settings. Despite making adjustments based on what I've viewed on YouTube I haven't cracked the code on achieving a glass smooth finish. But like the other cockpit panels I've painted the minor orange peel isn't really noticeable unless you look closely. And I doubt I'll care much once it's flying.
