So Much Drilling....

There's been progress over the past few days but nothing obvious to show for it. I've been slowly and methodically drilling the initial holes in the canopy rollbar and side rails and finished that process. Now I've begun upsizing the small #42 holes to the final #27 size to accept the screws that will eventually be used. Unfortunately, you can't just grab a #27 drill bit to upsize the hole in one shot. Doing so is asking for cracked plexiglass. Per Section 5 of the KAI the best way to upsize holes in plexiglas is with reamer. But again, you can't just run a #27 reamer in a #42 hole. The size difference is too much. You have to upsize a little at a time. After cleaning out all the metal and plexiglass chips in the left side rail from the initial drilling I started upsizing. First a #40 reamer, then #36, #30 and finally #27. So each hole gets drilled essentially 5 times. And there's 66 holes. So far no cracks and trying to keep it that way.
