Finally Got A Hanger

After being on the wait list for 26 months I finally got the call from DVT that a small T-hanger was available. This is an important piece of the puzzle because I need a place for final assembly and safe storage out of the AZ heat. Although DVT is the closest airport to me at only 5 miles it wouldn't be my first choice to store my plane. DVT is one of the busiest GA airports in the nation. The volume of traffic and student training that goes on there is huge. GEU would be my first choice. It's a little further drive but the volume of traffic is way less. I stored a Citabria there in the early 2000s. But unlike DVT where all the hangers are owned by the city of Phoenix and relatively cheap, everything at GEU is privately owned and very expensive. So DVT it is. I spent a couple hours with a blower and broom cleaning out the huge buildup of dust, dirt and cobwebs as my hanger had been vacant for a while. Then was able to move a few items cluttering my house like all the tail surfaces, flaps, ailerons and miscellaneous stuff. I'm still a way from final assembly and moving the rest of the plane there but I'll be ready when that day comes.
