Day 49

Today was lots of fun. We installed the right side skin on the center fuselage. Started by scuffing and cleaning the skin panel. Then Cleco’ed it to the main spar, and other vertical spars. Next was to cleco on the support channels. After everything was in place, proceeded to rivet in the same order.

There were a few places where holes had to be clear drilled because the two parts to be riveted had different sized holes. Also had a dozen holes that needed to be dimpled. Thankfully the dimple tool was just able to reach them.

Tomorrow we’ll be able to finish riveting the front channels that requires countersunk rivets. These each have to be clear drilled. As well as a few brackets that will need to be riveted to them as well.
