Day 160
Front Top Skin
It’s been busy! We’ve made some tremendous progress!
One, we got the fuel lines all hooked up from the fuel selector through the firewall.
Second, we have the hydrolic brake line hooked up from the brake solenoid to the reservoir outside the firewall.
Thrird, we have the static ports drilled, mounted and the hoses ran to the dash.
Fourth we have the heater ductwork held up and out of the way with zip ties.
Fifth, with 90% of the assembly finished between the firewall and the avionics reinforcement shelf (just waiting on a few small things to arrive) we have started fitting the front top skin! We have even set the dash panel in place to make sure it’s all coming together correctly.
The top skin will take some work as we set out to get just the right fit. The composite material did not come quite strait so we will be making our own line to get it to fit perfectly along the front. Then we will be able to match drill the holes and get it countersunk and Cleco’ed in place.
Once the inside firewall assemblies are completed we’ll then be able to seal and rivet it in place!
