Landing light wiring, Doors, Gas struts, Oil Breather

Landing light wiring

I decided not to have the landing light in the nose bowl after discussing with a few others, I’ll have it in the left outer wing instead. That required re-routing the wiring. Not a big task, but I did need to undo some of the cable tying that I had already done. I changed the earthing point as well over to the Dynon ACM negative terminal. I’ll add a joiner at the wing route.

Doors

The left door was binding on the Kydex and aluminium when fully open, so it needed the top aluminium skin filing back. It took several attempts to get it just right but it now opens fully without catching.

Gas struts

I took two of the gas struts back to the shop to have the gas pressure increased. The front left door now opens fully without assistance. Also the forward cargo door does the same. With the cargo door, I wanted enough pressure to hold against some wind without blowing closed.

Oil Breather

I had ordered additional Adel clamps and these arrived so I was able to secure the oil breather tube in place. A added an additional clamp to attach the left side engine sensor wiring to.

Windscreen Nutplates

I drilled and riveted nutplates for # 8 machine screws to attach the windshield to. The screws will go through the Kydex pillars that surround the wiring and fuel lines.
