Floors

I reinstalled the floors today, along with everything else so the fuselage is complete before I store it.

Fuel selector

The fuel selector went back in as well.

Skylight

I’m getting quite good at making skylights, and decided to make one from acrylic and see how it goes. Lexan is recommended because of its impact strength, and it takes the compound curves well, but it doesn’t play well with many chemicals including loctite and avgas. These cause it to craze and crack, at which point it’s superior strength become redundant.

I was concerned that the acrylic sheet wouldn’t take the compound curves at all, but it actually went in exactly the same as lexan. I then used a heat gun on it for about 20 minutes to remove the stresses. Time will tell whether it stands up to the forces.
